| The association was established in 1911 and its task is to safeguard and promote the joint economic, political and traditional interests of its members in the cocoa trade. |
The association acts on behalf of its members primarily in the following sectors:
- Social aspects of international trade
- Safeguarding the functioning of the market
- Food law and questions with regard to quality
- Tariff issues
- Fortification of Hamburg as a cocoa trading centre
- Activities towards ensuring equal chances for EU Member States
Information via regular newsletter service and detailed statistical reports.
Together with the Bundesverband der Deutschen Suesswarenindustrie e.V. (confectionary association), the association is the initiator and in charge of the Stiftung der Deutschen Kakao- und Schokoladenwirtschaft e.V., Hamburg (Foundation of the German Cocoa and Chocolate Trade).
The association is a member of the Bundesverband der Deutschen Suesswarenindustrie e.V., Bonn (confectionary association) and honorary member of the Federation of Cocoa Commerce, London. |
