| The task of the association is to safeguard and promote the particular interests of its members who are traditionally involved with the import of untreated feathers and downs for the feather-bed industry, the import of bristles for the manufacture of brooms and brushes, the import of horse hair and various weaving materials for a wide range of industrial purposes, as well as the import of finished products. The membership includes some manufacturers of brooms, brushes and semi-finished goods, and of raw materials and synthetic fibres. |
Foreground issues are:
- Tariff preferences, tariff law, origin of goods
- Import regulations, foreign trade law
- Quality of supplies particularly from China and east Europe
- Questions concerning veterinary law, residual pesticides in raw materials and finished goods
- Anti-dumping procedures for finished goods
- Other particular questions and information on new legislation
