| To safeguard and promote the particular interests of the importers, wholesalers and producers of essential oils, especially as suppliers to the perfume and cosmetics industry. |
The association was established in June 2002 in the light of emerging changes in the EU cosmetics guideline and consequent repercussions for the companies. Currently, the activities focus on:
- Lobbying for acceptable future EU regulations in the cosmetics sector
- Dealing with all technical, scientific and judicial issues arising in connection with essential oils
- Generally promoting essential oils as a product group for use as raw material by the cosmetics industry, the flavouring industry and for other purposes
- Keeping members regularly informed on specific issues, planned legislation and scientific matters
- Implementation of REACH, the new EU Regulation on chemicals
