| The association takes care of the particular interests of importers, processors and producers of various natural gums, such as gummi arabicum, trangath etc. Its membership includes local importers and processors of these products in Germany, other EU states, the USA and Japan as well as producers in the countries of origin, such as Sudan, Chad, Nigeria etc. Consequently AIPG aims to promote the product image of natural gums used primarily as additives by the food and pharmaceutics industries. |
Prime concerns are:
- To answer enquiries about food law issues, e.g. purity criteria for gums used as additives
- To provide members with information on all relevant product-related issues in particular on scientific and legal aspects
- To represent members' interests vis-à-vis the responsible authorities and ministries, EU bodies and international organisations involved with food additives
- To carry out scientific research and collate scientific findings in the field of gums
- To organise workshops, seminars, symposia and conferences on natural gums
- To support projects in countries of origin
